Hobie 18s Shine at the 2024 Combined High Schools Sailing Championships

Day 1

History has been made as 9 x Hobie 18s have hit the water at the annual event for the first time.

Mannering Park legends, Sam & Emily, took out the first two heats, narrowly beating seasoned team Noah & Hayley.

With the forecast slowly building day by day, the Cats are set to send it! Good luck to all the teams for their second day of racing!

Day 2

Manno legends, Sam & Emily, took out the third and fourth heats, narrowly beating Noah & Hayley, along with first time cat sailor Ollie Ross from the Northern Beaches.

Big shoutout to Hobie Asia Pacific for once again supporting the NSWHCA and providing us with some exclusive Hobie caps for the young guns.

Day 3

Racing was called off at 12:15pm due to a lack of breeze forecast for the rest of the day.

30 minutes later, the wind came in and 9 x Hobies went out and had a blast! Super coach John Forbes took the fleet of intrepid Groms out to the sand dune islands and parked up. The team made a make-shift slip ‘n’ slide down the dunes.

Sources within the NSWHCA can confirm undoubtedly that the Kids were absolutely loving it!

Day 4
