HCAWA Ron Tough Yachting Foundation Coaching Clinic weekend

The Hobie Cat Association of WA were thrilled to conduct a weekend of training for catamaran sailors through a local grant from the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation.
Held over two days in November, the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation Coaching Clinic- Hobie Cat was a huge success and well attended.
Day one was held at the Dinghy Club at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.
Two seminars with super coach Arthur Brett and rules expert John Standley. Great knowledge on race strategy, tactics and rules shared for the multihull community. All specific to the boats sailed in the fleet.

Day Two was part of the NYC Challenge race day, short course racing at Nedlands Yacht Club. It was time to try out the new knowledge with on water support and shore briefings.
Shore session on boat procedures with a Q and A, followed by on water support and video feedback for the two AM races at the NYC Challenge Day. The day’s advice was provided by Cam and Suzzi. The pair donated their time to the fleet and later joined in for the two afternoon races.
A huge thank you to the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation for supporting our sailors with the training opportunity and local clubs Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and Nedlands Yacht Club for their assistance with hosting the event.

This opportunity was gifted to our fleet by the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation, WA.
